Motor Drive Chain Adjustment
Tools Required:•
5mm Allen wrench•
10mm Box wrench•
CX Bikes
1. Loosen the 4 Allen bolts that mount the motor bracket 1.
from underneath the frame.
Adjust the motor chain tensioner bolt until there is only 2.
about 10mm (3/8”) slack in the motor drive chain.
Retighten the 4 motor bracket Allen bolts.3.
Electric Bikes with Frame Mounted Cartridge
Battery Packs and Vertical Mounted Motors
(Motor is mounted on the vertical plane of the wheel axle)
Loosen (do not remove) the 5mm motor bracket 1.

Loosen the 15mm outer axle nut.2.
Loosen the 17mm inner axle nut.3.
Loosen the 14mm top adjuster nut.4.
Tighten or loosen the 13mm lower adjuster nut to adjust 5.
the motor chain. (Note: Lowering the 2 nuts will loosen
the chain, raising them will tighten the chain)
Adjust the motor chain tension to allow only about 6.
5mm slack (3/16”).
Tighten the 14mm top adjuster nut against the lower 7.
bracket tab and 13mm nut.
Tighten the 5mm motor bracket mounting bolt.8.
Tighten the 17mm inner axle nut.9.
Tighten the 15mm outer axle nut.10.
